The Dogra Woman – Poem By Gayatri Sood

Of your lores, pashminas and नैथानी…
You are birthed of high mounds in blanching landscapes,
Not conceit adorned on thine skyward gaze,
But a Dogra woman, an epic, a rhapsody,
Cultivated from golden threads on velveteen weaves;
You are born off soldiers under warring mud,
From enigmas ever bold and never told;
With catastrophes, you hum off in a tongue supple & demure…
In pursuit of you, they charred all souls,
For radiance entrapped in rapture,
And of your lores, pashminas and नैथानी…
